ball joints

i have a 02 400ex and it squeaks real bad does that mean the ball joints are bad or they just need some grease or something but i cant put anything on them because there the stock ones and the only way to do it is to go buy a arms too

Are you sure the squeek is from the balljoint, usually they will squeek from the frame pivot points, if it is your balljoint you can take them loose and grease them. I use a small syringe filled with grease ( available at tractor supply in the horse section) . With the arm loose from the spindle you can stick the needle between the boot and joint spindle and grease, or pop the boot off and grease, you have to bee careful with the boots, they're tricky to get reseated. If you have any slop or play, it's time for replacement, you can get stockers cheap from fleabay!! Good luck!
