There's a couple of good threads in the Hybrid's section. Might get your answers there. I just sold my 350X, I was going to put it in a 250R or 400EX frame, also, but decided with money I could get more goodies for my 250R. They are great motors, but I'd think the 400EX would be as good or better than the 350X, and less fabrication involved. From what I read, the 350X is quite a bit taller motor and you either have to cut the top of the frame and try to figure out how to mount all of the plastic etc... or you can cut the bottom frame and drop it down, (most I've seen do this).

Either way, goodluck.

i can understand the handling plus, but i would rather just buy a 400ex then. the frame geometry is so close. i wouldnt put a 350x engine in a 250r frame...i would put a 250r engine in a 250r frame...lol :D

you've located a 250r with a 350x engine in it? if so then i say go for it...... otherwise i'd never alter a R frame to install a 350x engine. although the 350x built right can make great power.

Get some picks up if you can. 350X motor motor was a great motor!!! It'd be tough to go back to a 250R motor, imo.

Back in the day i had a 250x motor in a 250r frame. I had it all done the right way, The frame will start cracking, the chain will loosen up when you set on it insted of tighting up. I had pep shocks and the frame still broke. I would stay away from that setup unless it was on a laeger frame. Thats what i went to and it worked great.

I kinda dont' understand why a Civic motor is a good thing to put in a Ferrari chassis.

when the 400ex wasnt out...or all the 450's...the 350x was the best 4stroke motor to put in these chassis....your not talking a new setup here..this is an early to mid-90's before honda started producing the 400ex...so dont diss it unless you know the history.

What does the history have to do with putting a 250x (or 350x) 4stroke in place of a 250 2stroke? In other words, I think it's always been a strange idea. Honda and 90's racing did too apparently or history would show competition 4wheelers with 250cc and 350cc 4strokes in them. It's just not more than a novel idea for many people to persue it is all I'm saying. It's definitely not a performance upgrade. No offence intended.

well idk think that any motors shold be in a 250r frame but a 250r i love the ol 250rs wished i would have never gottin rid of my last one....the only reason i even interesed in the one with the 350x motor is because its a pretty good buy i think...and since i dont have nothin to ride at the moment!:D

Before the 400ex came out the four stroke classes in my area were 300ex's, Mojave and Warriors. When the 250r chassis 300ex's and 350x's showed up it was all over but the crying. And I might add in my neck of the woods that Rocky Ridge Racing had some of both and they were slick.

Look at it this way, you still get to run in the Civic class. :D
