We had Zack's 2nd and last race of the season last night. He Took both hole shots and lead the pack for all the laps he could ,due to chain issues.

Very proud Dad . :D especially under the circumstances. He was the youngest (10) out of the pack of 10-12 riders. It's a 10-15 yr. age, 90-125 cc class. Considering it was a very broad class with alot of experienced tweeners and teenagers .Plus some of the quads were little rockers and ours was pieced together off here and ebay with minimal investment and with me as the mechanic, pit guy, and moral support. And I have no experience on anything quad racing.

Got alot of great info from this site and some of the guys that were kind enough to share their experience with me on and off the forum.Thanx !! It helped in getting an otherwise stock trail ridden eton, competitive.

Zack has decided he wants keep racing so we will be building one from ground up and keep his eton for riding the trails.

I think we officially have the "racing bug":D

That's awesome!
Bill, I'm with you...part of the pit crew, mechanic and moral support....I'm learning as I go. The feedback/info on here (and at the tracks) has helped me a ton. My son was hooked after the first time I took him to watch quad races. I asked if he wanted to come back again and he said "Yeah, but next time I want to race". My wallet's been empty ever since. :huh

And I blame jread14 for all of it. :D

At his age and size I'd recommend you get him an already built up Honda 125. IMO. If you had one of those Honda's you'd smoke the competition in the pics.
O and that racing bug leaves a mark when it bites.

Zack says thanx too. Don't know yet what were gonna do . It's really a time and money management thing , right now. I know he likes building them with me, but he likes racing more........

We discussed the Honda build as well as the 2 strokes......it will come down to pricing everything, of course.
We also were looking at the extremes, but he seems a bit big for those. His buddy rides a 125 and he just fits. Zacks got 4-6 inches on him so I don't think it's a good fit.

I happen to have a Cr 125 and a CR80r motor in the shed. Planting one of those in a blaster frame could be lots of fun !!:D
