OK, so I was given an LT 80 which was in pretty rough shape, (to say the least). Wouldn't turn over, so a new battery and starter relay fixed that. Then it wouldn't even try to start, so checked for spark, it's OK. Pulled the carb and reed valve. Now my problem: I broke the crankcase at one of the reed valve SCREWS (why put machine screws in a part like this????)

Question is, so do I need a new crankcase? Or maybe JB WELD, then drill it and tap it?? Or should I cut my losses now and stick with my 2 wheelers?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Eric

Well that's a new one.

I'd do the JB weld thing. With the other 3 bolts holding the reed cage, it should hold.

I'll give it a try and let you know.
