Turns out the carb job I had done is no good.
Gonna have to fix it myself if I want it right...

It seems to be pretty much too rich across the board.
I have no idea what the jets & settings are.
All I know is removing the lid is not enough to lean it out.

So I've had rich smoke, I've had it leak out of the lower tube once, and my idle speed has not been the greatest lately. Seems I can't find a happy place for cold and hot idle?

I've been looking at and reading everything I can on these carbs, but none of it is a ton of help for what I am doing.

I figure I probably need to go all the way through it with a rebuild kit... or get another carb for it. But I'm figuring also that changing the needle clip position and adjusting the air/fuel screw might do a lot to show me how far off I am.

So do you think messing with the pilot screw would help at all?
I haven't even looked for it yet... where is it?
Near the idle is all I can tell from the manual...

How about checking out the needle?...
Do I get at it from the top of the carb?

I'm riding under 5,000 ft elevation all the time I think.
Rarely over 3,000 ft I'd say.

I have a full Yoshi system and a K&N filter.
Prefer the airbox closed unless I make some purchases.

Any idea what ought to be in my carb and how it should be set if I were to take it apart and see?
