went and worked on my "quad ski project" today. Got them all togather and bolted up, now all i got to do is cut off some of the extra steel so it looks sharper...... we even got to try it out(My friend John is on it in all the pics) i would have to say that it works as good as if not better then i thought...

Hey, nice job, looks pretty tyte and some fun, like he said get dune tires, also is that really safe? It looks kinda scary. I couldnt imagine jumping 5 ft. without thoise breaking or the hubs cracking. But looks fun.

looks good but probably not the best thing to jump with..how much $$ did it cost ya?

cost...NOTHING
safe... why would it not be safe?
breaking... the skis are off a snowmobile, so they wont break anymore now then they would when they were on the snowmobile, the "1/4" steel plates are welded onto the old leaf-spring and at the bottom inside the ski
jumping...plenty safe,.. they are balenced with alittle extra weight on the back so that when the "skis" come off the ground/snow,.. the front of them will lift about 1-2ft higher then the rear making it "safe to jump" ( if the front of the ski went down first, ya, it would not be good at all)
sand tires... have some on the way!!
I wont be using the skis much here in VA( not enough snow) i made them so when i got back home to maine for a couple days, maybe people wont be complaining about an "ATV" being on the trails and tearing them up... sorry i dont have a ATV,.. this thing is for snow only!! (ill still get a ticket though)

That looks awesome. Let me know how the sand tires work out in the snow. I always wanted to try that. You could spend another thousand or two and buy some tracks for the rear wheels. :p :huh

im sure u thought of this, but buy another set of spindles, and other parts u will need, so u can convert the bike back over to regular front tires for regular riding

Wow, looks neat. I have had no trouble in the snow yet. I see what you mean about tearing up though. good idea. Well little scary with no fornt brakes on snow, but i guess thats the way it goes!

the question or concern i have:
you said you weighted the back of the skiis, if it were me i would put somthin on there to keep them from folding under. in theory the weight might work but they would swing when you jumped it. if you had some kind of bungy strap on the front and back, that would instantly center the ski when it left the ground. when the suspention flexs, so will the straps.

why would i need to do that? these already bolt up the same way a wheel does.
the weight has been working just fine, i have not had any problems with the skis wanting to flip over at all.

thats looks really cool...i know that they make some for dirt bikes, but not enuff snow here....i definetly prefer ridding quads in the snow over dirt bikes.....

i used to ride dirt bikes all the time in the snow... the opnly way it worked good was to put one stud/hex screw in each knob.
