Hey guys, I have a mostly stock 2006 400ex. I am looking at a stage 2 cam to give it some more go.
Besides just the cam do i need to buy anything else? Heavy duty cam chain? Shims?
Any input would be wonderful. Heres my current setup.

Jardine RT-Four Slip on
K@N w/outerwears.

Oh and how much would it cost for someone to install the cam for me?
Or could I do it my self?, my dad use to race 3-wheelers and could probably help me.

Thanks for any input,
Sprenger

Its best to go with a high comp piston as well cuz you will loose abit of compression.

i run my stage 2 with a stock engine. Added great power. I am eventually going to go with a 11:1 piston tho.

the stg 2 is sweet. you can ad the piston later if you dont have the funds also put on the old 450r carb on and its a new machine. i did the 450r chain while i had it apart. its best to do it right the first time. dont cheap out cause it will cost you. i put the HD springs in mine also cause the stockers will not last forever with a high lift cam. build it right the first time 400ex heads go for $200- 300 on ebay

the cam is an easy swap. i just did my whole top end, and if i was just doing the cam it'da been maybe an hour job tops.

i also did an 11:1 426 piston at the same time... its a new machine.
