The Southern Ohio Cross Country Series rolls back into Bainbridge, Ohio for RD9
of the 2008 Season.
On Saturday September 6th, 2008 Cyco MotorSports will host the Harescramble titled "The Dust Bowl".
This track has became one of the favorites of many SOCCS riders. Promoter Darren
Bobb says this one will be no exception! "Since our race on August 23rd, we have work tooth and nail to set up a
completely different course, including a new pro hill" Bobb explains.
The SOCCS is in its 5th year and counting. The series has a great reputation of
a fun filled family environment and races are on time and very well organized.
With big names like Brandon Sommers and Bill Ballance attending the SOCCS events, attendees may
get a once in a lifetime chance to rub elbows with some of the nations greatest riders.
A harescramble is a race against the clock on a long course, 4-6 miles for big bikes/atvs
and 1-2 miles for the young kids. The course will include open fields, tight woods,
some motocross and creek crossings. It is a true test of a riders skill and patience
as the racer will need to conserve enough energy to finish the race as fast as they
started it.
There are classes for all sizes of machines and all ages of riders will compete.
A harescramble is also a safe alternative to motorcross for the new riders. This
is because the riders will get spread out throughout the long course and will be
riding against the clock instead of a pack of riders.
The SOCCS features a yearend awards ceremony for riders competing in 80% of the
races
