These are some old pics of my quad it pretty much looks the same now just diff exhaust and new bumper. I ride alot in the wood's and dont know if I am gonna touch the engine unless I have to. We ride alot of trails that 4x4's wont even touch and I need power not speed lol.

But I will get a better pic of it when im feeling better. Sorry for the strap was on the trailer with my dad's beast after a day of fourwheeling.

Oh and this is Josh Henry he sold me my 08 400ex and he sold my cousin his 08 450R (he works for honda) this is him helping put away one of the fastest bikes I have ever seen!

the lights are trail tech torch lights. i painted the rims, and they seem to be holding up great. they are also very easy to touch if you need to.

and for all you guys that were guessing...if you look at the lower a arms, i have one off of an older model with the darker colored grey. it is more prevalent if you are looking at the bike in person. and yea, the one healguard is detached. i gave up on it cuz it seems like the bolts always vibrate loose and fall out...im tired of replacing them. i tried just zip stripping it, but they tend to snap.

nice pics,but cant get me head round why u guys run such large front and rear tyres,im in the uk and my quads maybe a page back with 8" rear rims and stock sized fronts but tyres dropped to an 18" tyre. is it for a purpose over there.sorry to ask .

Side by side, what is more comfortable and which one feel's sportier?

I was wanting to convert to the 08 plastics in the future because of the ergo's alone and the fact it looks like a much sportier, more aggressive riding position.

in my opinion, no. the last guy who worked on it at the shop told me he doesnt like it and that could be some of the reason it has hard starting at times.

You picked a good one. I really like it. My wife does not like sport quads at all and was not really happy that I bought a second one for fun but she tried it out last night a little and is getting the hang of it. I like my 07 but the seat and body work is great on the 08. I didnt like them looking at them in pictures until I had them both in the garage together. The best thing is that the seat pops off without the fenders. I always end up scratching my plastic up on my 07 putting it back together.

I like the 08 better for feel. It feels a lot sportier than the 07. I havent ridden it a lot yet but so far it feels better. The seat seems a lot stiffer on the 08 than my 07. As far as converting a 07 to a 08 thier will be a couple of obstacles. First the 08 is really narrow around the tank so it would require a new tank for the plastics. Second the sub frame looks different because of a different latch for the seat, the rear fenders are bolted to the subframe (not the seat like my 07). You could probably weld the lugs needed to you old subframe and make it work.

yea i know, i couldnt either but figure if i sold my real super clean stockers (mich some people prefer) i get however much i make off of them as a discount towards the new ones. i think i made 100 off everything includng the front headlight.

we usually ride the trails that are off the 8 freeway, or ocotillo, but there used to be this spot down in otay, its like right across the street from Brown Field that we used to go to, it wasent an ohv area but no one ever complained un tell two people broke there necks, and neather of them where waring helmets. yea..... 905 was a good spot till enforcement started impounding stuff. technically its private property. it wasnt so much an issue till the idiots made it apperent it was being used. like always, the irresponsible people ruined it for all of us.

there's corral canyon i think you are talking about off of the I-8 freeway. its alright but too tight for quads unless yer doing it on a 4x4 and goin slow.

yea, dunes are by fer the funest thing to do around here (IMO).

im getting ready for a trip more then likely in late september or early october. i have a thread started in the Dune tales section. PM me and we can set something up to head out to the dunes.

there's corral canyon i think you are talking about off of the I-8 freeway. its alright but too tight for quads unless yer doing it on a 4x4 and goin slow.

yea, dunes are by fer the funest thing to do around here (IMO).

im getting ready for a trip more then likely in late september or early october. i have a thread started in the Dune tales section. PM me and we can set something up to head out to the dunes.

It its sad.:( we do check down there every once in a wile to see if any things going on. ya theres corral canyon, macain valley, and pine valley(which is the closest to San Diego)pine valley is i big trail(big enough for a car) its great for going fast on.

yea, thing is i found that haulin butt through there is kind of a gamble considering there may be other riders coming at you through a blind curve..... i just found it too dangerous...... all the dirtbike guys tend to scoot too fast down there and ive heard stories about accidents all too often.:(

Oh and the 08 is awesome in ride comfort. If your just putting along and can slide back on the wider part of the seat and kinda stretch your legs out a bit and the wide seat is comfy.

If your getting kinda fast and taking turns ya can slide forward and the seat narrows giving you great grip with your hips making it easy to slide your body weight (narrow seat means dont have to move as far to get your body weight to lean over the edge of the bike) the seat was a very good design I love my 08 and love to ride it compared to my cousins 08 450R (looks identical to the 07 400ex)
