i made a new freestyle ramp for my kx it is only like 4 ft tall its a mini super kicker, well i finished it yesterday and i jumped it, first jump i nose dived pretty bad, so i went and i corrected it and landed perfect well on my 3rd jump i hit it, and i got big air about 10ft high, one problem i was flyin with the front end way to low so i panic reved and that didnt help any i hit the ground flipped over the bike landed on top of me, and i had to be rushed to emergecy room for x rays on my leg, hand, shoulder, but my shoulder is ok, hand is proly broken, and leg is just pulled muscles, one good part about all of this is my little brother got it all on video :D

Ouchy, I think I am goin to try and build a ramp of some sort, but I dont think I want a big one, just a small one to start with. I might eventualy try and build a mx style track.

I'm goin to make a new post to ask a few more questions now that you .. sorta inspired me. (not to goto the ER though :D )

Well that sucks. Be more carfull next time. And like derek said "Lets see that video." I don't know how people put videos on the computer though :huh . I think you hook up the adaptors from the video camera to the back of the tower but thats what I think. Good luck with the hand and leg.

Cool, kinda. Hope your alright. You can put it on computer, if you buy a Card for your computer that has a video IN slot. ATI makes them... sorry I cant find a link, Striker might know one.. Sorry

so its a wooden ramp...i thought that it was a dirt one...my ramps are all made outta dirt...my parents are really cool about me ridding...my dad had a few bikes when he was a kid/teenager....they told me to go easy on the front yard(dont tear it up) and the backyard is all mine...i have about 5 jumps back there, and did have some whoops, but i took 'em down...more jumps are coming this summer since we cleared some more trees from my woods....

12-09-2002, 06:58 PM
ramps= wood or steel
jumps =dirt

Ya luke when it warms up my dad is renting the Bob cat excavater again and we can load the f-150 up and make a big pile and then work from there. If we just make a big pile we can mold it or move it around a little bit at a time.
-Ben
I dont wanna go with wood or metal!

BlazingYamahaYz
12-09-2002, 08:29 PM
aight lemme know when he is going to.....we need to clear the woods of leaves and small twigs...maybe the stumps too...figure out where we're going to take the dirt from....

Big accident going on it BK. We might get called out off duty. Front end collision, code, heavy extrication, 2 air angles in route.

just heard from doc today, no broken bones, just torn muscle in shoulder, jammed thumb, and some piched nerves in my leg, it feels weird i have like a 2 in wide 6 in long numb spot on my leg, but he siad it will heal in a few weeks just stay off of it, guess thats better than broken bones

Well hope you feel better.... What is the length of your ramp??? If your ramp is to short you will have problems... Trust me i know....hahaha.........:D Hope you feel better.............

kxrider
12-10-2002, 04:06 PM
, the ramp is 3ft tall and a lil over 6ft long, i think it looks good but everyone else says it is way to steep :D , and i dont kow if when ur ridin at it about to jump it it looks like your gion to hit a wall, i think it is supposed to be like that or thats how the pros look

motochris
12-11-2002, 04:28 AM
Well you need to add a little to that ramp... the small ramp i have is 3 foot tall and 9 feet in length... When the ramp is to short it will compress the suspension and cause the rear of your bike to kick hard and throw you into an endow... Also check your angle to the lip of your jump and make sure its not to steep...

So when you going to build the 15 foot high ramp???...... Just kidding bro..........:p

if you want to get the movie on here, you can buy a Dazzle digital video creator like i did. It was about 60 bucks and plugs into the usb port. You just hook it up to your puter and camera and you send it. Its not too terribly hard. Plus you can edit and make special effects to. www.dazzle.com
