Alright, I'm doing a complete tear down of my crf150r this winter. My plans for it are:

-Hot cam stage one
-New plastics
-Graphics
-Painted frame and subframe.

Im not sure if i have enough money to be able to send my frame and sub frame to you.Could i get quote? And what color should i go with if i get white plastics and xyience graphics?

The CRF frame isnt to big, and would run around $145 including shipping depending on the final color.

I have no clue what color you like, so me picking it shouldnt be what you settle on. White fenders offer alot of choices as almost everything goes with white.

Just save up to have it coated, I get frames in here every week from people that went the paint route and ended up spending more money in the long run. If its a basic color, you might find a decent deal locally, if not, I would be hapopy to do it for you.

yeah, deffinatly do the pc route, i painted my frame on my 450r. and if you use quality materials you will have more than the price of powder coat into the paint alone. i had probably 350+ in just paint, when i painted my quads frame. and i did it so there was no labor.

Alright,i will probably be sending you my frame sometime in Nov-Dec. Im gonna think about colors. What kind of reds do you have?

Pappy
09-01-2008, 08:30 AM
Most popular are Fire Red, New Sparkle Red and plain old Gloss Red

I think i got my decision. What would this cost?

-Gloss Red Frame
-Gloss Red Head cover
-Molycoated or Stealth SubFrame
-Molycoated or Stealth Swingarm

Also what does it cost to ship it to you?

Pappy
09-01-2008, 08:22 PM
-Gloss Red Frame $115
-Gloss Red Head cover $25
Stealth SubFrame (included in price of frame)
Stealth Swingarm $40

Shipping shouldnt be to bad. Just protect the head area (where your triple tree mounts) and shrink wrap it. The subframe can probably be zip tied inside the frame or boxed with the swinger and head cover. A geuss, $65 round trip but I dont recall what state your from.

Massachusetts. So my total would be $245? Can you tell me what bearings and seals i might need to take out?First thing iv taken apart.Does this include a clear coat also?

Pappy
09-01-2008, 09:15 PM
Clear on the red would add $30
Clear is not recommended on the stealth parts

The bearings in the neck and swing arm need to be removed.

Do i need the clear? I just dont want to rub the paint off with my boot quickly. Also do i need any tools to take out the bearings?

Pappy
09-02-2008, 08:28 AM
Clear will add a little time to the boot area, but will not stop it, its just a force of action you cant prevent

If needed, we can handle the bearings

Alright il try and figure that out. I dont think im gonna do a clear. How much would the bearings be?

Pappy
09-02-2008, 08:39 AM
I will try and not charge you anything, as long as there are no huge issues in them coming out. Might be a good time to get new ones and send here so we can install them as well while its apart

I dont think they will be a problem. This bike has like 10-15 hours on it lol.If they do come out easy i will do the clear coat.

Pappy
09-02-2008, 09:06 AM
Deffinatley, with that low of hours do your best to reuse them:p

So you can take out and put the bearings back in for free? That would be a huge plus.Im so excited for this build. I think im taking it out for one more week, then i will start disassembly.

Any tips?

Pappy

Clean the machine

Take some pics during disassembly

Use zip loc bags labeled with what bolts go where

Take notes if you'd like

Get yourself a good manual on the machine

And take your time, this isnt a race!

lastly could you molycoat the engine guards?

Pappy
09-02-2008, 10:20 AM
I can, however moly is used more for its lubricating qualities then an appearance coating

exrider12
09-02-2008, 10:22 AM
Alright what you recommend? They are plastic.

Pappy
09-02-2008, 10:27 AM
You will have to paint them, moly and pc will involve a heated curing cycle that doesnt work to well with plastic

exrider12
09-02-2008, 10:30 AM
Alright. So just to finalize what im doing.

Frame-Gloss Red/clearcoat
Subframe-Stealth
Swingarm-stealth
Head cover-gloss red

You are taking out the bearings and putting them back in?

You sand blasting and preping it.

And shipping should be about $65 round trip.

So my total would be around?

Pappy
09-02-2008, 10:35 AM
Looks like that all ads up to $245

Yes, I will help you with the bearings. I will do my best to get them out and reinstalled with no damage, but the swingarm bearings could need to be replaced regardless...just keep that in mind.

And yes sir, that price reflects all prep work and return shipping.

Im stuck!! i cant get the swingarm pivot bolt out! What do i do?

Pappy
09-09-2008, 02:03 PM
Start by using a rust catalyst (PB Blaster, WD-40) and allow it some time to work if its seized.
