View Full Version : cylinder head cover help (raptor 660)

Has anyone had problems getting your cylinder head cover off, i cant get it off. Any tricks suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

tap on all of the allen keys bolts so that they break lose, they just get stuck somtimes and then will strip really easy.

make sure its at tdc so that thers no rocker arms holding pressure on your valves.

But if it actually will not come off. you could have some dall pins that are bent and from someone other puttin the head on cruched the in the holes and there for making it harder then normail to get the cover off.

We have all the bolts off and still cant get it to come loose, im going to hit it with a hammer later and see what happens, i have a 400ex im helping my buddy rebuild the raptor.

catch it witha coat and smack it with a hammer... always works for me....

well if all the bolts are out. then it must be a Dal Pin thats stuck. maybe the last one that pulled it apart ovialed one of the dal pins just enough to make it stick on so that it wont come off.
Hit it with a hammer and find out if that makes a diff.

got it out thanks guys, there was 2 screws we didnt catch by the carbs.
