For you guys that have a 14t sprocket, how do you like it and how much top speed did it take away?

I used it and it helped acceleration a good bit but lost what seemed like near 5 MPH... Now that I'm doing mods I put the 15 back on and man, it seems like this thing's a ton faster.

Yeah not enough that you are going to notice. How often are you at top speed anyway you know.

its great if u really need the low end and are never at top speed which i dont think many people hit unless u ride dunes or fields. definately good for MX

If you are using 20 Inch rear tires then it is a good idea. If you are using 18 Inch rear tires then stay with a 15 tooth front.

I had a 14 on when I got my motor done and put on my 18s and I couldn't handle the power. I was pulling Wheelies in 4th gear and I rode around out local Mx Track in 4th and 5th Gear. I had to gear up.

The 14T is cool for trail riding, etc. because you'll be using 2nd gear a lot more for the slow stuff, but when the road goes straight like where I ride the 14T will show you a noticeable loss in MPH. The acceleration is much better with the 14T over the 15 which is what counts for the way most folks ride but I'm a top end freak. Me and my crew get out the highway and get pretty crazy.

i dont think the 14t is worth it unless you need the bottom gearing.. wat do u suggest if ur are ridin mx 14/36 15/36 16/36 w/ 18 holeshots????? help whould be great thanx

I have a 16 tooth front and love it, especially for mx. With 18 inch tires and the mods that I have the gearing feels great, not losing any on bottom and gaining mid-top. What can be better for 14 bucks? I never noticed it effecting my holeshots any either.

My 14T is great for riding but I've raced 250R's with pipe and mods and smoked them until I hit 4th gear and than you notice the loss. Well not so much a loss but you just ain't gonna get any faster.... It's great for every other type of riding i do usually... Usually when I do race people it's more for shyts and giggles...

i got a 14tooth and think it was the best 20 bux i spent. i ride tight MX tracks and need the low end, i smoke a lot of guys off the line too, its an extremely noticable difference. but im getting 18" rears and 19" front in the mail n e day know so i will probably switch back to my 15t, i was gonna sell it but its not worth it and this way when i use my stock tire ill put the 14t back on :D i highly recommend it and check the review section for the renthal sprocket

I have the 14 and 16 tooth.

The 14 is does improve pull in all gears and I peaked it out at 63 mph as measured with my GPS. Makes it a wheelie monster.

The 16 really makes each gear longer, reducing shifting and wheel spin. Make sure your engine has enough power to work well with this gear. I hit 73 mph as measured with my GPS but I ran out of room so there was more speed in the gearing.

I think I might try both a 14 and 16, i do a lot of trail riding up the mountains, but we are also on the roads a lot, wide open i might add, and it'd be cool to edge out my friends, plus i go to 2 different sand pits and i'd really like a little more second gear. I did hear that you have to remove the chain guard for the 16 though.

It is a lot better having the 14t on my 400 to do wheelies and everything else. For road riding, i miss my 15t but not that much

If your a trail rider you will like it.-I do-.as far as top speed i was able to muster 70.3 mph with 22 razrII on back at 2002 hatfield mcccoy dirtweek festival i had the valve train ringing like a church bell flat out on a long flat section of road.It is legal to travel the road from trail to trail and into towns. a awesome time for our group it was
