new computer...transfering files?

I have about 4000+ pics on my desktop right now and I am in the maret of getting a new computer...how can I transfer all of my pics and vids to my new computer without uploading them all to a cd.

Add your old hard drive in your new computer as a slave drive, then move all your files from there. Pretty easy.

or buy a thumb drive/memory stick/etc... they are soo cheap now, you can get an 8gig for 20-50$ they are a handy little device.

I spent about $100 on a 500GB External hard drive.

All the room I would ever need, easy to take places if need be, always have my stuff backed up.....and, easy to transfer stuff to a new computer. ;)
