that's pretty cool. I didn't know the aftermarket made a frame like that. I wonder what the vibrations are like.

The vibrations are teeth rattling just like any other CR500 in a quad. The guy who originally bult that bike was on everything2stroke constantly trying to get ideas on how to cut down the vibrations.

That bike has actually been on ebay a few times. I just seen it last week, but it was a whole roller minus the shocks. It had black laker plastics with red JRD graphics. I heard a little here and there about the Leagers CR500 frames back in the day. I think there was some mention of it in Dirtwheels back then too. I would imagine the vibrations being less then usual but probably still pretty bad. Until someone devises of counter balancer of some sort your never going to eliminate the vibes of a single cylinder two stroke. Rubber mounts and stuff are only going to slow down and dampen the vibes not get rid of them.

i think the whole vibration issue is over-rated. From what i hear from a few owners of the CR-500 swaps it is not that bad. big bore 2 strokes vibrate. period, counter balancer or not. my zilla vibrates a fair amount, but once your busy trying to hang on, its not that noticable.

It's not over rated. Comparing a counter balanced Zilla motor to a 500 bike motor is apples and oranges. Zillas vibrate some, but nothing like a big bore bike motor in a quad chassis. I had a fairly stock CR500 in an R several years ago. It was fast, but would vibrate something fierce. I also had a KX500 in an '88 Tecate. The motor was mildly built and even had the crank balanced by Falicon, but still vibrated pretty bad. I raced it a few times, but any pro-longed trail type riding would have been miserable. In hindsight, I wish I'd have kept the Tecate because it was a really cool and unique bike. As a sidenote- My 500 Tecate would rape the fairly well built Zilla I had at the time.
I guess it boils down to what your going to do with it(race, trail ride, etc.) and the individual riders preference?
Just my $.02

Yep. Same name. I have one name on all the forums so I only have to remember one password. LOL. I recognized your name from over there too.
