i have an 01 trx 400ex and i cant figure out why my pipe back fires when i'm riding it or giving it gas it doesnt do it all the time but most of the time can someone tell me why it does it

You either got a problem in your carb or you coil/spark plug. Mine did that and it was the jetting, once i got that cleared up it never did it again.

I would clean your carb and check the plug to see if the jetting is correct it sounds like your back firing on decel i wou assume that its the main jet try a size bigger

thanks well i need a plug anyways but i dont think its the carp it might be the coil but i'm getting a new plug to put in it but thanks for the help. i'll try what u said and see if it works

ok i think its the plug but i'll clean the carb to just to make sure
