I have a quad and a dirtbike. I ride both pretty aggressively. Never on a track, only fields and tight trails around the house. I love doing wheelies off the tops of hills and getting some air here and there.

I have had a few rough landings, especially on the dirtbike where I smack my foot on the ground pretty good. I have been thinking I need to get some boots before I bust an ankle. Now what are the main differences between MX boots and the ATV boots.

Ideally I want a boot that I will use on both machines. I am leaning toward the MX ones since they appear to come up higher and offer more protection.

never really relized the difference in mx boots to atv boots.looks like the difference is how high up your leg they go.in my opinion, just go with the mx boots.majority of riders will go with the mx boots.whether your riding trails, fields,mx,ect you will like the mx boots much better.

Main difference between "ATV" and "MX" boots is simply the sole of the boot.

I prefer MX boots, myself.

The only difference I see in them is the ATV boot has more of a hiking boot sole. Like the last post, I prefer MX style.

yeah i think the mx is just the flat bottom and the ATv has the rigid hiking boot bottom. I have the MX bottom on my Fly Racing boots and they are fine I look at it as less area for something to stick to and in between.

I trailride alot and have had both. As far as riding, I couldn't really tell a big difference. The ATV soles are defiantely better for walking around. Like stated before, it's like wearing a hiking boot.

EDIT: I have the Tech10 boots. Their soles look much different than the ATV boots that you posted.
