First pic is with MX tires

This is with bigger tires for woods riding

And this one is with the nerfs and bumper painted with wrinkle black, and the wheels just gloss black

Let me know what you think.I am wanting to get a set of red uncut plastic and put on it.I also will be having the frame powdercoated this winter.I have been riding this since 2003 and still love it.I have had(and still have)several YFZ's but this is my favorite quad to ride all the time.

Everything works great in the woods.I do have to squeeze through and go over alot of stuff but that doesn't bother me.

i understand what you are saying about different tastes, but with all the others out there, well...the whole yellow and red thing...they way they are just don't flow well together...red and yellow can be done together...it just has to be done right...my first 400ex had started down a red and yellow path, then i changed it

i don't want to jack his thread, but as far as mine goes, i haven't posted anymore pics of it because it still wasn't 100 percent. when i took pics of it, there were parts in my garage that needed put on...+1 houser a-arms, different tail light, i took the headlight off and put the hood back on, hubs need powdercoated STILL(i have been busy/lazy/tired), and a few other little odds and ends...it is a little muddy from riding last weekend and i hope to tear it down this weekend and give it a bath...maybe after that, i'll post some new pics...

here was the start of the red and yellow:

When you say you painted your nerfs with "wrinkle black" what is that? I am wanting to paint my nerfs just like you did and would like to know the best way to do it. Thanks.

The wrinkle black is Krylon non-skid spray paint.I am not sure how durable it will be,but it is for steps and things like that.

I have to agree that it looks decent, but there are several out there that look way better than mine.I built this back in 2003-2004 and have not changed much on it since then(just tires and the painted items). The graphics have held up very well, they were put on in 2004.This quad has been rode hard, but never put up wet.

That hurts my eyes... LOL...
Really though, it wouldn't hurt you to get some shock covers.

As for the heel guards, are those custom.
I'd like to have a solid heel setup like that myself.

It hurt my eyes to.I ran out of tear offs for my goggles that day.The heel guards are AC.The part you see is solid, but the bottom has holes in it.I have shock covers, but for some reason I never put them on.
