ok guys i'm in the final stages of my 460 build,
just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions for me to get it to handle the best i possibly can without spending insane amounts of money.

so far i have/planning -
dual rate tcs rebuild stock rear shock
tripple rate tcs rebuild 05 ltz front shocks
pep stick type steering damper
+3+1 a-arms
lonestar +2+4 axle
itp holeshot xcr's
+2 custom steering stem
stock offset wheels
stock swing arm?

I ride club level mx and grass tracks and fast trails
Hopefully i've got most of it covered??
cheers

I wouldn't move the a-arms forward one inch.

oh ok... why's that? it's interesting to know about these things.
I don't know that i've found a company yet that make +3 arms that arent +1 foward
i appreciate any input

i dont have any personal experience but from what mgazines have tested and such they said the only quad that handled better with +1 foward a-arms was the banshee and the others handling seemed to get worse. I'm sure you would balance it by getting a +1 or oi think its +1.25" swingarm

yea i was thinking i may need a longer swinger to balance properly but i've heard mixed oppinions...

I've seen +3 +0 a-arms in a motosport magazine for a 400ex before. Pretty sure they were houser.

cheers guys for all the help so far...
i looked into the houser arms apparently they only make up to +2 for the 400's now which sux.
so what everyones oppinion on this, if i have to get the +1 foward arms should i fork out the extra cash for an aftermarket swinger as well?

i gotta question for ya ben,
how much will the ltz shock rebuilds cost? i cant find a price on the rebuild it self.
i have a friend with some ltz shocks layin around that i plan to send off.

I have a +3+1 gibson front end and love it. Handles like a dream! I seriously doubt any negative handleing characteristics, there is a ton of pro's running Gibson long travel +3+1's. I also run a stock length swinger.

powermadd i'm not 100% sure how much the rebuilds were, i was lucky enough to pick them up off a guy who had not long had them done who was pretty much the same weight etc as me, from memory he told me it cost him around $1400 to get all 3 of his shocks done, i hope that helps, i've been told by others that the ltz shocks are an awesome platform to do rebuilds on and that they perform great.

Im getting mixed oppinions from everyone i talk to about the a arms and swinger, i'm thinking i might get the +3+1's and run with the stock swinger to start with and see how i like it, if it causes issues then i'll upgrade the swinger later on....
really appreciate the input guys, thanks

Sorry, If you were just a bit closer I would let you take my bike out for a bit. I think you will like the +3+1 front end. My bike is stable as can be in the whoops.

thanks that would be awesome if only i was closer, definatly be a big trip to come see you!! lol!
Im thinkin its going to be good for me, its not like i'm riding pro level, its going to be a massive improvement over riding a stock bike...

Hold on blackie, lonestar makes the +3+0 a-arms.

i could be wrong but i'm pretty sure lonestar only make +3's in long travel

Long travel will give you better handling like you wanted.

yea i've only got standard travel shocks tho unfortunatly, i wish i had the money for a full long travel setup that would be so nice!:(
