does anybody know alot about cams.I'm wanting to buy
one but my dad said they're just trouble,and that they we cause problems with the performance after a long time riding and you will have to adjust them alot and he said it isn't worth it so will a cam help or cause alot of problems for me in the future
and what all do they do when they port an engine

An aftermarket cam will cause problems if you don't get harden rockers and maybe some stiffer valve springs. The cams are a little harer than the stock cam thus causing the stock rockers to wear abnormaly. One thing you will find with an aftermarket cam is a bit more power.

Hotcams are a pretty good cam to go with, you dont need harden rockers or stiffer springs with those cams.. Cams will not cause you problems, as long as they are done right the first time.. They are a good way to get quite a bit more power out of your bike..
