After a 3 month pause for the summer , the WORCS series kicked off at Straddleline ORV Park, just 30 minutes south of Olympia, Wa.
Straddleline offers a great facility with a large covered Grandstand for the Specators to view and plenty of shade to camp for the wk. end in the heavily wooded region.

Something new and exciting was in store for the Pro ranks as well and the Amatuers this round -debut the WORCS Cross !! I can tell you personally I throughly enjoyed this event as well and the spectators!! IF WORCS Cross proves to be a hit, this will become a regular event added to the exciting line up.

Something else new since round 5 at Hollister is WORCSTV!! WORCS is now televising on Direct TV Channel 608(MANTV) so be sure to check your local listings!!
Threwout the summer,5 rounds (each round is 30 minutes) have been televised- next round will be anytime now!
With a boost in fuel costs, some of the rider count from the further regions did not attend, but Washington State is a plentiful State for quad racing,so it was no surprise to see exactly 550 entries for the wk end.

Fridays practice kicked off as usual, but what was fairly UNUSUAL was the HEAT!!
Temps were in the 90's and some of the surrounding areas hit the triple digits with approx. 50% humidy. This is very unusual for the West Coast as the region is typically abit more dry (I personally had a tough time adapting myself-no comments Harlen!!!:p )
Dry conditions would lead to dusty sections threwout the course including the XC sections, which were mud soaked the week before for the WORCS Bikes Round.Dust was controlled for the most part in the main MX section.
The track consisted of MX, Log,Rock,Tree roots , and hillclimbs just to name a few..

This was BIG change from the 2007 season as Mother Nature put a twist on things and gave the riders quite a mudfest last season at Straddleline.
