I have a 2007 400ex and i want to paint the rame and the plastic on it...so what kind of process should i use and what type of paint... i am new to painting and dont want the paint to chip off after the first time i take it out...

for the plastics i heard the "fusion" paint from wal mart works great

For the frame you want to prep it really good. I think it was Honda#4 that suggested the 322 process. 3 coats primer, 2 coats paint, and 2 coats clear. I'm not sure if that was exactly that but it was close.

Thats one of my processes, I did a 3-3-3 process on my swinger. For me the process varies by part cuz different parts maybe come in contact with dirt while others will stay somewhat clean.

For the frame I reccomend having 4 coats of paint and atleast 3-4 coats of clear. It never hurts though to have more clearcoats on.

the stock frame is just painted not powdercoated correct?

For the frame you could either go with Fusion, or a paint called Sems. You can get it from an auto paint shop. For the frame I would go and try and find an oil based paint in a can. You should be able to fine that at a home improvement store.
