View Full Version : shut off on 5th gear?!?!?

hey guys me and my dad were racing down the road today and in 5th gear my quad just shut off??? i think i might have of blow it up!! so let me know what you think and what i will need to fix it, i already have a new piston and cylinder coming...

i found out it didnt blow up!!! but i still dont know why it did that, overheated maybe???

Mine has done that a few times when the gas tank is a little low. Nothing to worry about I'd say.

like around how low would u say because mine was kinda low, around a little less than a quarter of a tank??

Sounds about right, Sometimes when I'm below half and ride a good size wheelie it'll do it also.

hey guys i dont know what happened to my quad??? it starts for like 2 seconds and then shuts off it wont run at all?? please let me know if you think i blew it up??

Possibly flooded, check the spark plug

Possible fuel blockage turn fuel cock to RES to see if that fixes it.

And a dumb suggestion, check the choke setting.

nope thats all good i think it might be because i put some sea foam in it, its like carb cleaner that u put in ur gas but i dont think it worked and it just made it run like crap.

Dump the tank and put in fresh gas.

Be sure to drain the carb as well.

Spark plug... tends to do that with extended high speed riding. owners manual has a part number for a plug if you ride fast more then slow...

i got it running good but idk how i just startes messing with my carb and changed my plug too, that was probably it.
