Yup.
I run 9x9 hiper dual beadlock tech3 rears w/ 20" 6-ply Razr's.

I would think that woods racers would want a 8" rim over a 9"......but that shows what I know about XC racing.

Why would you rather have 9"?

Less sidewall flex. Better cornering and better stability.
Less tire roll = reduced chance of a sidewall puncture as well.

8" wheels are really best for MX w/ a smaller 18" tire.
