Will this work with the a non new chain?

will a 14 front sprocket work if i never changed teh chain i already have been tightening the chain every so often if i just loosen the chain back up and put the 14t on will it work ? im talkin about a 300ex here

I would suggest that you get a new chain. It would work if the sizes from stock isn't to much of a difference but I would by a new chain.

No worries man, slap that 14 on there. A new chain is a good idea if your stock one is old. If not go with it.
