Wayne crashed hard at mile 7. Hit a rock in a silt bed at speed. Collar bone broken in two places, 5 broken ribs, collapsed lung. He still got back on the quad and rode to pit 1, (Mile 34) talk about one tough guy. Harold Goodman got on and rode the rest of the race on his own. (Race was 456 miles total.) He still finished third pro quad. Wayne was taken by truck to the hospital in Tonopah, and then flown to Reno due to the collapsed lung. My teammates saw him Saturday evening in the hospital. He was in good spirits and should make a full recovery. He is to have surgery today to plate the broken collar bone, and is due to be released from the hospital Wednesday.
