Can anyone explain the basics of varator roller weights?
How do you determine which weight is best for each differant track?

I woudl think that there are a few things to determine before racing.

1) EGT that motor runs best at
2) What RPM the power is made at
3) Tune CVT (torque spring, stall, rollers)

Then sprocket accordingly to the track....

We are in the process of investing in a portable system that will tell us or any rider we hook up to where they are at with these settings at any point on the track.

How does the average person determine this with out a dyno or any specialized tools?

Stop watch and Tach with hiv rev memory (about $100 investment)

You can also puchase sensors that attach to the bike to help

Some will measure head temp with a washer that sits under the spark plug....EGT is much more accurate though

Make 1 changes at a time (easier said than done:) )

Make runs and record data....

Ex) reduce teeth on the rear sprocket then make the same run that you did previously....Did you gain or lose RPM?

You can ride the quad and see where the power band is and then you need to sprocket so that your bike is running in this range at the desired amount on the track.

Sometimes the smaller sprocket is the answer for the rider and most parts of the track.

What good is a 12,000 RPM motor if you only use that power for 2 seconds a lap?

Just my 2 cents and i am not an expert by any means
