motor locked up!!!!!!!!

my '04 450r motor locked up and i havent ripped it open but i think the top and bottom end need replacing and all bearings . has anyone had their motor rebuilt just wondering how much it costed you and what you had done thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You won't know what you need replacing until you tear it apart.

I went ahead and put a crank, piston, cam, and valves in mine. Round 800 in parts, roughly.

i realize that thats why i asked "if anyone has had any work done what was it and how much it costed"

if the cases are damaged, and needs a new crank, oil cooler, piston, cylinder, gaskets, cam chain. and some one to do it. you can be looking at 1500-2000

If you do crank, piston, cam, bearings, gaskets, oil cooler, pretty much everything except the cases, you're looking at about $1200 to $1400.

I spent about $1200 doing the labor myself. I reused the cylinder, head and cases. I also did a valve job on the head while it was a part.

same pretty much happened to mine but my cylinder walls were all scorred up.. but ended up buying a big bore kit...went with ice cube bores or w/e cost me 2g's with crank balance and it was well worth the money :D .. stock would be 600-800$...
