Do you have directions to the riding area?

You best have an aftermarket skid plate on your swingarm if you plan on riding those trails. Kinda reminds me of Elephant State park!!!;)

Hey, is there any places to ride up around Highland?

cmskms
09-03-2008, 09:40 AM
Any thing thats close to me is all dirt bike only! Which freakin sucks! Theres a place about an hour and ten minutes north of me called south fork dirt riders in Taylorville, il. Supposed to be pretty good, its at www.southforkdirtriders.com. Everything else in illinois is either couple hours north or south of me.

Yea, I was trying to meet yea so you didnt have to drive so damn far. We can do St.Joe??? Or ,I can get some info from my buddie that lives in Troy about his place called Coyote Trails. Think its in Cauterville(if I spelled that correct).

Ive been to Coyote trails before. Its in Coulterville. I haven't been there in a while. But i heard the owners got a divorce and split the land up, making the riding area about half the size. So you might want to call down there first to make sure!! But it was fun the last time i went, but if it rains too much i won't want to go there cause it gets nasty muddy. St. joes is cool with me, i can make it there in less than 2 hours

Or, there is Wa****a trails. Thats Just south of Farmington, MO. I think it like $10.00 during the week. They have a crap load of trails and a MX track. But, you best have a heavy duty skid plate on that LTR of your's if we run the trails.;)

I haven't been to coyote creek since I had my 440. I usually go riding at a buddies property just north of I-70 near Troy, IL. If you are driving down 70 toward Troy, you can see the trails.

I know this kind of a old topic but I would be interested in meeting some of you guys over at St. Joe State Park some time. The last time i went riding there was back in 1986 the day I got my drivers license. Anyway I have moved to the Bloomsdale, MO area south of Festus and would like to go riding sometime with some people. I just purchased a used 2007 Raptor 700SE with about 8hrs on it. It hadn't even had its first old change. That guy had it for 2 yrs and I found it on craiglist in Barnhart. Anyway let me know I and if things work out would like to go riding. See Ya!!

Good chance we're going to Little Egypt this weekend, good time there. Lots of good trails and a fun mx track.

Doesn't it cost a ridiculous amount of money to go to LEOR? I thought I saw/heard $20 for a DNR sticker then another $20 for a one day pass. I wouldn't mind going, but too expensive for me. I would like to go back to coulterville. I haven't been there in atleast 5 years now.

cmskms
05-14-2009, 06:15 AM
It didn't cost us that much when we went last fall. It was like 12 or 13 dollars. They didn't even ask about a dnr sticker.
I do have a dnr sticer and it was like 11 dollars.

Now we went to SouthFork Offroad in taylorville last weekend and they did ask about the sticker. But no one even looked at our quad/dirtbikes all weekend. So I'd say the only way you'd need one is if a conservation officer was out there. Which is highly unlikely.

Little egypt is a great time though.

I haven't been to coulterville in a real long time either

I'd love to go, but I'm waiting on a chain/sprocket set to get here. How far is the drive from your house in Highland?

cmskms
05-14-2009, 08:44 AM
Thats cool. I know all about waiting impatiently on parts!

Little egypt is about 1hour&45minutes from me.

Let me know when your ready to ride!

I'm always ready! Its just that life part getting in the way! lol I have a 4.5 month old, so he takes up most of my time. This is my first year with my summers off so i will be riding a lot more.

Oh I hear that. I have a 7year old son, and he's getting to where we can go to more places to ride now. Though we tend to lean toward places that have mx tracks. But I try to get the occasional adult ride in whenever I can.

Going to Badlands in Attica, indiana this friday and saturday the 22nd and 23rd. Not bringing little kids, so it will be a real good time. If anyone wants to go hit me up. Then after we get back from there, heading out sunday for a couple days to either little egypt or lincoln trail. This will be kid friendly as i'm bringing my son. Later, Chris

cmskms

Badlands is about a 3 hour drive from highland.
Lincoln trail motorsports is in Casey, il. Which is just east of effingham. It has a website.
