I picked up an 89 250r not long ago and have been restoring it slowly. I am pretty much done with it except I seem to not be getting spark. I have read several topics about having to really get the RPM's up just to produce spark. My head is off at the moment so the motor can turn with ease but still nothing. My previous stator was shot due to a bunch of dirty water sitting in the cover. I pulled the cover, flywheel and stator to have it replaced. I got my new stator and I figured I would OHM it out to check before I put everything back together and I am getting no reading at all when connecting the MM to the red/black wire and ground. This might be a stupid question but does the stator plate ground out onto the engine to complete the circuit as well or do I most likely have a bunk stator once again? Everything else tested out fine along with the pick-up.
