I have a 1998 LT 80 and the starter motor needs to be changed, What is the procedure......

I just replaced mine. I had to remove the pivot pin on the motor drive assembly. Then I just jacked it up. It was still kinda tight but it came out. Good Luck

I always stand it up on the grab bar, remove the pivot pin, then use an engine hoist to lift the front end of the bike up. I like doing it this way because it's not as close to the ground......the older I get the harder it is to get back up!!

Thanks folks. Taking out the pivot pin was the secret.

What is the "pivot pin"?

The pivot pin is located near the front under the gas tank. It is the long bolt that the whole motor drive assembly pivots on.
