do you know which bulb your bike uses? i thought it was the same as the previous models. for my 02 400ex the bulb is an h6m and i think its the same for the 05 so i think that kit would work or you could make it work at the least... imo HIDs are nice and look sick but why not go with a set of PIAA halogen replacements they're less money than a HID conversion and they put out a pretty bright white light.

also they have an application for an 05 450r which uses the same kit. so im pretty sure it'd worik

I don't know if you really want to run two of those lights with double the wattage if you are still using the stock stator. The charging system will not be able to handle the extra load of the lights, and could damage your charging system.

How hard is it to change the stator? They said it shoul run the the lights fine but i dont know much about the charging system....

rickystator.com also has H6M halogen which are better than the stock. They're available in 35/35 or 45/45. Those are the ones I run at 35/35. Right now I'm looking at ordering some H6M hid kits from ebay. They're less than $100.00. Look into getting the slim ballasts to make mounting easier. I ride in Glamis at night so I need more lighting power. Check out this link about HID on a trx450r. Similar to 400ex. (http://www.z400central.com/invision/index.php?showtopic=72214&st=0&p=612536&#entry612536) This is for a z400 but is also a H6M bulb. (http://www.z400central.com/invision/index.php?showtopic=80092)

the only problem you might want to keep in mind with those ebay HID kits is the quality of them... make sure they are water tight and vibration resistant ballasts... you're riding at glamis i know not a lot of moisture but just incase... also the reason you would want to change the stator to a high out put stator and get vibration resistant ballasts is that cheap ballasts that are under powered and vibrate a lot tend to flicker when you go over bumps or when you're idleing its kind of annoying IMO. just lookin out. good luck with those HIDs:)
