Ok, so ive had a Powdercoating oven and gun for like a year now and have yet to use it. Today i decided to try it out on a few test parts. I didnt take as much time on the Candy Red as I did the black but as you can tell the black turned out alot better.

The bumper doesnt look bad. The whel almost looks pink cause i wasnt sure how much to spray on there so you can still kinda see the shiny aluminum under it. The license plate ring would have turned out great but i didnt get all the cleaner off in some spots so it didnt stick as good.

so, when you PC something, you hang it from something "grounded" so the metal has a negative charge and the gun has a positive charge, making the powder positive there for it sticks.. right? thats what i understood from wikipedia atleast haha

I got an electric gun and has a ground wire than comes from the big bulky piece that plugs into the wall. Your right as far as i know. I just did an old lever. It turned out great. Im just using 100 grit sandpaper to scuff up the surface. And acetone to clean it and make sure my fingers didnt leave any oil on the aluminum. bake at 400 degres for 10 mins and your done except for letting it cool.

no, i got a shop out besdie my house where i have a powdercoat oven, sandblast cabinet, and an open area to spray the powder. Nothin professional, I just plan on doing parts for people i ride w/ and people i work with.
