I need to switch out my front hubs to fit the larger bolt pattern of the 450r. I got a great deal on new 450r rims and tires, but I didn't realize the bolt pattern were different.

And are 400ex hubs the same as 450r? and will my rotor and front brakes fit?

I'm currently upgrading the front end with 400ex arms and stocks. which spindles are better? 400ex or 300ex? I hear the 400ex spindles will make the tires angle in at the top...

Thanks
Troy

Umm... the TRX450R has the same bolt pattern as the 300ex front and rear. 4/110 in the rear.. and 4/144 in the front.

Perhaps they are yamaha partern? 4/156?

I know what the problem is... I have a 250x spindles and hubs. I didn't know the 250x had smaller front hubs.

My guess is 300ex hubs will fit fine.

Thanks bwamos!

The '87 250X hubs are the only year that had the 4/110 bolt pattern. '88 up have the 4/144 bolt pattern.

When I tried to use the 300EX spindles, the tie rod bolt and nut hit the lower a-arm at full extention. And still had the bad camber on the tire. So I ended up putting the 400EX spindle on and got rid of the issue.

The biggest issue why the tire leans in is the arm mounting location are more straight up and down on a 250X/300EX frame, where the 400EX the top mounts are out farther. That why you have to put spacers between the frame and top bumper mounts when you use a 400EX bumper on a 300EX.

What he said.
The 87 250x had an oddball front lug pattern. The rest were std honda pattern.

Couple 300ex hubs and you should be set.

400ex spindle helps some with the misalignment. But the best way to correctly setup the 400ex front end on the 300ex is to have adjustable 400ex upper a-arms.
