Hey guys/girls I just picked up my new 2000 400ex last night, that clutch is very hard to pull. Is there any way I can make it easier to pull? The quad is all stock except for some afam bars.
I thought it might have been some water frozen is the clutch cable but it isnt. cause I have a heated garage and it is still hard to pull.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, cause i wanna ride it:huh
Thanks
Craig

Buy a new clutch cable. They get dirt in them and if you keep them lubed up they get hard to pull. Cables are only about $15 from Honda. :)

I dont think i need a new one, cause it pulls freely its just really hard to pull. Like my sister cant even pull it with one hand, she needs two hands. Shes 12. Thanks for your help, if all else false i will get a new clutch cable. Could it be an aftermarket clutch or clutch springs or something ?

Bump
it could be your cable, sometime, purchase a new cable, and a CR or Pep style perch system and it will make it alot easier

Most probably the cable like everyone else is saying, it wont feel like the cable, but it probably is. Im building my R and the cable that came off of it is in really bad shape, but seemed to be perfectly fine when It was on the quad. So try the cheap fix first! :D
