sparks 440 won't take throttle

My friend has a 2000 model with a 440 kit and curtis sparks/keihin carb, when he first got the atv a few weeks ago it was breaking up so he brought it to my house I found a bunch of crap in the gas tank so I cleaned it out and pulled the carb apart and cleaned it good the bike ran great after that then this weekend he opened it up one time good and it died now it will start but as son as you hit the throttle it dies reminds me of a car with an accelerator pump misadjustment but don't see any way to adj this checked the diaphragm and it looks fine also checked the main jet and needle&seat both look fine anybody got ideas it would be appreciated.

Every time I have had that kind of problem, the airboot going from the airbox to the carb had come off causing it to pull too much air and die.

Thanks but I found the problem turns out the e-clip came off the needle causing it to not open under throttle same idea though too much air not enough gas
