This is my cannondale drag bike. Makes 65hp on gas and 40ft lb of tq.

The big stink is how unreliable these bikes are. I can tell you that the last two years we have ran this motor very hard almost every weekend at the track and have had no issues. Its a shame cannondale couldnt fix the mistakes that we have fixed to make these bikes reliable. They would be selling like hotcakes if they could have fixed the issues and brought the price down a little bit.

This thing is awesome and it wins consistantly. Nobody believes it til they see it go down the track. But then everyones attitude suddenly changes. I just wanted to share with everyone how far a few guys have brought this brand even years after cannondale shut the doors. I wouldnt trade it for any other 450 on the market.

Racing mostly 500 ft tracks, although i won a fair race the other night that was 300 ft.

No turbo. All motor on race gas.

Id also like to add it weighs in the 260 range full of fluids ready to go.

Heres the chart.

It had 66hp in it but we didnt want to push it as this is the first try for some higher compression and different cams. We left it a little rich and saved some dyno pulls. We also could have tuned that dip out too...we didnt for the same reasons listed above. The dip really isnt hurting it for my intended purposes.

Top speed and roughly how much dough ($) you got into it without rebuilding and what not just the first finsihed product?

Top speed? Depends the on the gearing. Ive hit the rev limitter with 15/37 gearing and according to my gearing calculator thats about 101 mph. It pulled that gearing easily so it will go well over 100 mph if thats what you wanted to do. For drag racing 500ft i run just enough gear to cover the distance...15/40 and i ran right around 90 mph at Tomahawk in WV a couple weeks ago.

As for a total investment, this bike was built over a 5 year period a little bit at a time with a lot of different parts and trials. Had i only bought the parts that are on it right now, to build it exactly the way it sits you could easily do it under 10. People give these things away...its actually nice becasue guys like me can have an awesome bike for less than half the price of any of the other 450s. I just picked up a Speed last summer to trail ride for 1000 bucks and won the stock class at a local fair drag race last week as well as won the big open class on my drag bike. They are awesome bikes and when they are built correctly with the right reliablity upgrades u just cant beat them for the money. Do you understand what it would cost to build a 65hp Honda or Yamaha?

my 60 hp honda cost about 4k in the motor alone, after exhaust and ignition and a taper bored fcr carb and other things were deep into the 5k range...and it blew up in 1.5 hours...now were hovering around 58 hp its been good for 2 years.

those dales are cool machines

Sorry I missed out on seeing this at the fair. Didn't even make it back to W. PA for the fair this year!

Glad to see you representing the C'Dale's well!
