i have an hmf full exhaust and am running a 97.5 main and a 40 pilot jet and notice some rapid pops on decel. i have been tightening the clamp at the end of the header quite a bit, so i don't think it is an exhaust leak. my instinct tells me that i need to increase the pilot size, and when i do more turns out on the fuel screw, it doesn't do it as much, so just wondering if i should get a new pilot, bigger, or put the stocker back in.

i think u might be running 2 small of a main jet i run a 112 and my bro runs 124 and runs perfect or it can be ur fuel mixture screw if it is turn till it has seat in then turn 2 1/2 rotations out try that

i'm at very low elevation, so the stock jet worked but was a little lean. 2.5 turns out is too lean w/ the 97.5 . i had a 110 but flames came out of the exhaust along w/ smoke so it was way too rich. you may be right but the slow jet controls the pop though because it is on decel. so i think i'm at like 3.5 turns out, so it probably wouldn't hurt to order a 99.

i found out that it may have been an exhaust leak because i went to tighten the header and it was very loose. it was the first time i've tightened it since i installed it, so that is probably it. won't know until i ride it again though, waiting on a new starter relay.

i figured out that it may need a valve adjustment. that may be accountable for the backfiring, and my timing may be a little off.
