I never had a chance to post pics of the stolen '93 CR250 after it was recovered since I had a lot of stuff to get done before the Michigan trip, so here they are. I was told that the VIN was ground off and it had to be lifted, but when I got it home and looked at it, the only thing the police did was strip off the heavy coat of black paint that was added and the VIN was still there, intact. Surprisingly, after almost ten years, it still has the same tires that were on it when it was stolen. The plastic has been changed, different bars, bark busters are gone, and the seat was recovered. I don't think they ever cleaned the air filter, it fell apart when I touched it. After putting some gas in it, it fired on the second kick.

After the initial clean-up. Most of the black paint blew off with the power washer. The full resto will start soon, I'm already gathering parts for it. The motor will get a complete rebuild, chassis will be powdered as close to the original white as I can find, and have all white plastic. When I bought it new, I took all the factory red plastic off and boxed it. The white scheme was to duplicate McGrath's Peak Antifreeze bike. I still have all the original plastic that I took off the bike 15 years ago, so I'll be able to return it to 100% factory original if I want.

thats a pretty cool story that they found it after that long. Do you have any pics of what it looked like before it was stolen. that would be neat to compare

I have pics but they're on film, no digital pics of the bike. And I don't have a scanner. When it was stolen it had white shrouds, front fender, and rear fender. Pro's Choice Attack graphics and the factory seat cover. Back in '93, I wanted to duplicate McGrath's Peak Antifreeze bike, but nobody made the blue shrouds, side covers and rear fender that he used. It was all custom stuff for him.
