i know there are lot of creative people on the forums here and my friend and i are attempting to start a clothing a company focused on the offroad world. we are calling ourselves dirty green and could use some help creating a logo. we have some good ideas but nothing that is really hitting us as the right one. so if you guys could use your skills in helping us get a logo going here i would be more then happy to supply the creater of the winning logo with a free shirt

i was shooting for it to look like the text was dead grass in a nice green field

but my photoshop's colors are weird so it didn't turn out the best

I have no Photoshop skills, but you need to take that grass pic and make ruts in it that spell dirty green.

i like that style but not to sure about the tire tread. i know brown and green aren't exactly the colors to do it with but i'm looking for something that really jumps out and grabs your attetion without being to loud if you know what i mean

ok, i will work with that one more. and i was thinking, on Ruby's, where he tried to make it look like dead grass, how about making it so it looks like Dirty Green was cut into the lawn?

LOGO DESIGN 101

1. the logo must first work in black and white before it will work in color, think of all the ways the logo will be reproduced

2. drop shadows= poor reproduction, hard to mimic on screen print

3. Everyone is using "trash fonts" go outside the box, create your own logotype. everyone goes to the computer first. Create 2-300 thumbnails/variations, pick the best few take those to the computer and see what you come up with.

4. a clothing company takes alot of research, do your homework, decompose the popular clothing companies you are trying to mimic find what they are doing wrong and how you can do it better.

5. No offence intended. but forums are not the place to search for art. try freelance job forums. You need a graphic designer/illustrator who knows the industry and the methods needed to produce quality work.

6. Launch the company only when you have everything 100% completed.

Just trying to provide some valuable info that you may or may not already know Good luck with your venture. If you want any advice let me know.

thanks for the advice it will be used well. most of the shirt designs are done and we have a few hats in the works. just gotta get it all together and professional looking before we start putting the product out there.
