Why does fram suck? Lol, let us know. I hope you're not trying to put an oil filter in a banshee!

I can't remember where I saw it but I saw a test on automotive oil filters. The FRAM filter was at the bottom. The paper element in the filter would expand and actually quit filtering the oil almost compleatly, most of the oil just bypassed the filter and went right back into the motor. This was all automotive tests and thay were the bottom of the line FRAM filters, but still... Also, I'm pretty sure that FRAM sells filters with PTFE particles (teflon)in it calling it an oil treatment filter or something like that, supposedly making your motor oil better. Any company that sells something like that cant be to concerned about filtering the oil in your motor or taking care of the inside of it. In my opinion at least

I'm not a promoter of Fram products but I will say that they do have a Hi-Performance Fram as opposed to the old-style, paper elements they have long been known for; but the cost of those are about $ 8 /ea., depending on where you buy them of course. The old adage of you get what you pay for definitely applies and if you really want a great filter, check out Mobil 1 filters ( they filter from 10 - 20 microns per their filter specs ) $ 9/ea. Amsoil ( they filter from 4 - 6 microns ) $ 9/ea. and there's a few others that filter down around 15 microns $ 8 - 9 /ea.. FYI - 80% of all engine wear is caused by micron particles 20 microns and greater and 80% of all name-brand filters filter no better than the 25 micron level. These are facts not opinion. So, it's pretty simple, keep your oil clean and your engine will last longer. Ride Hard !

Thats the first useful information I've seen you post. Usually you write so vaguley you can never tell what your trying to say. It seems you have a lot of knowledge in this area, and your "opinions" can be very helpful.

Merry Christmas!
