OK, I have a friend trying to sell me a 1989 IROC-Z 305EFI 5speed t-top camaro for 10k. A little about the car, it is mint! It has only 16k original miles, and is 100% bone stock. stock tires, brakes, everything. There is not one defect in the car, and is in perfect looking and running condition. There is nothing mechanically or visually wrong with the car whatsoever.

My question - why is bluebook and nada guides so low on this car even in showroom condition? Is it actually worth 10k, and is it a deal?

I love the I-Roc's so I'm not bashing here. That is not a 10k car. In 89 you could have gotten the 350 Tune Port so to me thats one "defect" in it.

Its worth whatever someone will pay. Its apparently worth 10,000 to him.

The way I see it is I would not be able to find another one in that good of shape with that few miles. The blue book is for typical cars and this one is obviously not typical.

If I had the money, I would but it in a heartbeat. I have had an 85z28, 96z28, 98v6, and currently a 97trans am. I still love the late 80's early 90's style and would love to get another one.

Basically its up to you if you think that car in the primo condition is worth that much to you.

offer him like 9k so that way down the road you'll feel like you got a deal, paying $1000 less.

I didn't look up the prices .... but from seeing what they go for at auctions and such , I'd say it's worth $7500 - 8000.

What are you wanting mint or motor? That one is for sure not motor.

but not with the 5speed manual tranny, only the automatic. (easily fixed though..)

in any case, i dont think its quite worth 10grand... yet...(though being mint w/16K miles is really appealing)

Def. not worth 10g. I just bought a very nice 96' collector edition vette with 46,000 miles on it for 11,500

The 305 moto was not the greatest idea that chevy had (even though i feel as if every idea chevy has is a bad one :blah: , im a ford guy) BUT anyway

10k, no way not worth that much, i say around 6-7k the autos are worth more but also its all in the eye of the beholder.

my friend had one that was mint as well and i just didnt feel that the car was worth the price.

but hey hes your buddy if he was tryin to rip you off hes an a**hole haha

im a huge fbody fan but for 10k you could damn near put yourself in a pretty nice ls1 car. Or a very nice lt1 car...not worth 10k imo
