Toyota Supra??

Hey guys, I just picked up a 1988 Toyota Supra! It's got the 3.0L single turbo and 5 speed manual, but it doesn't run so well.. other than body work and paint everything else is good.

I'm in need of help in the engine area though, there's a hell of a lot of stuff under that hood :( Has anyone here had quite a bit of experience with these imports? If so, I'll post a vid of it running and go into more detail of where I don't think it's right.

Also, what should I expect from this car when the engine is running strong? I've heard they can be pretty quick.

I'll snap some tomorrow, but keep in mind it's nothing special yet lol.. The bottom is rust free but there are maybe three or four spots on the doors and fenders that are pretty bad. I'm still deciding on what color I might get it done in, won't be anything boring though :devil:

I work at a Toyota dealer. What do you need to know??? I visit this site only once a week (just had another kid added to the fam). I'll give you help if I can, it just may take me time to reply.

I am a toyota master technician and have worked on many supras. I have access to all factory info for that car.

good luck with the supra bro my buddy has a 1996 twin turbo and hes always having problems lol i think the cars are sick tho and they are fast as hell but he is constantly having problems.

I'd lose my license within a week if my car was that fast lol..

I've been working on it quite a bit but it still has no balls.. I'm gonna have to read the Haynes manual I got for it from cover to cover, it's a lot to handle. I want to take a vid of it starting and running tomorrow if I get time. Maybe LT250_Joe or someone else will be able to steer me in the right direction!

hey that wouldn't be a 55r turbo would it? if so those are pretty rare so the song would be about right lol
