Just looking for advice on my 07 400ex. I tore it down to find the stock piston had seized in the cylinder. I have sent the jug to be bored to elimiminate the gouges.
My question is should I go with a 11.1 piston and a mild cam or does anyone have an idea to keep the reliabilty that is the 400ex. the last thing i want to do is break down all the time.. Thanks for your advice upfront.

you won't kill the reliability of a 400ex unless you go big bore with a 416/426/440 and take short cuts.

even then some of them are still reliable.

a mild engine like 11:1 compression and a cam will not change the reliability of your 400ex, just keep up on maint. and routine checks for stuff it'll last you as long as you keep up on it
