first accident with th 08

so today i was riding and it was kinda dark out.

as i was going i ran over a rock that was flat and seemed relatively flushed with the ground. when my front tire went over it it flew up and bent my foot peg and bent my shifter.

so the bad news: ^^

the good news: i'm "obligated" to buy new after market parts.

the shifter. i don't really find it necessary to go all out on this one. anyone have the "tusk" shifter on the market from rmatv? is it better then the stock one? its only 16 bucks. and im not loaded.

the foot peg. i can kinda live with it, but it will bug me. if i end up doin somthing about it it will be this. does anyone have theses?

Never bought from ebay myself... just putting that out there to show that they are out there in black. Maybe PA is about to cut production for the 400EX?


Anyways, if you get these or any heelguard nerfs with integrated pegs... please let me know about their mount height v/s stock. I'm wanting to find some that will be lower than the stock pegs. THANKS.



For what it is worth, the last woods ride I was on almost changed my opinion of netted nerfs. They can be as much of a safety concern as they can be a safety item out there. If they didn't use the stock pegs, I'd almost get a set of PRM Side Bars.

The ebay pic is not an "actual item" picture either, so....


I first thought... well the one you are showing is for a Raptor 700 and I would expect it to be different.

Then I looked around more on ebay and found more for the 400EX/450R. But then I found and "actual item" picture of the exact same style you're showing... but this one only specifies the 450R.

mtnex...the pro armor pegs do not lower the height, ac racing used to make a set for the 450r that did...but i am not sure if those would work on a 400ex without some modification...

the pro armor pegs that you have seen, in the 400ex version, are also the 450r version... the ones on my 400ex were originally on my 450r. the disclaimer that "the actual item may not be pictured" is because of the mounting differences between a raptor and a 450r.

what you posted is what lovestosponge wants...he just needs to get them for the 450r...

yes the 450r pegs will work...the ones i have on my 400ex right now are the 04/05 450r models that were originally on my 06 450r...

The lady I emailed from Pro Armor said they no longer make the fat pegs in black for the 400ex.

I want something with a peg more down around flush with the bottom frame rail.

normally i would say where i got the graphic kit at, but there are reasons i can't

mtnex... my pegs are above the frame rail...my suggestion would be to look into a +1 or 2 stem

For what it's worth...I have AC propeg nerfs with heel guards, and I put the propeg mount on upside down (must have been sleeping when I did that :ermm: ) and it lowered the pegs substantially. I finally noticed because my nerfs banged on every jump I took off since they were so low.

If you can weld you could probably make your own propeg mounts with a little more drop, but make sure you get thick enough plate and a good weld. What do you use your quad for, trail riding or racing?

my girlfriend bu t me the pro armor fat peg nerf bars for my 400ex in black and they told her they where goinig to discontinued this item bc it was like a special edition or somethig u should check i dont know if its true
