I'm looking to replace my shocks, but I need to know a little more about the setup. I ride mx style, lots of big jumps, but am looking to race XC. There is obviously a difference in the setup for the different riding styles, but I don't know what the difference is.

So what is the difference? Is there a happy medium?

XC guys run ALOT faster rebound then MX guys. Obviously stiffer spring, and harder compression for MX.
I think XC guys try and run a little more sag, but im not sure about that. Other then that, there isnt a whole lot of differance that i know of. But again im not a suspension specialist.

It seems to me that many prefer Elka over PEP, but PEP would be the top choice if the wait wasn't so long. I don't care about the time frame, I'm tired of settling for second best.
