I had a set of 55 watt lights and they burned out at full throttle, so I buy a set of new trail tech lights 35 watts and they did them same what is the problem do I need a newq regulator, I need help quick I have a dune trip in three weeks.

You need to check the out put voltage to your lights. It might be the voltage regulator had gone bad and letting too much voltage to lights. Causing bulbs to blow out. Just my 2 cents. Good Luck!

deffinately sounds like either the regulator has gone bad or you have some connection issues.

Are you using actual trail-tech lights, or cheap knock-offs with generic bulbs? If they're genuine Trail-Tech, which kind are they?

What year is your quad? I know the 86 voltage regulators are a little higher voltage than other years, and a couple extra volts could very well be the difference between blowing bulbs or not.

So far, it looks like the same thing everyone else is suggesting, a bad regulator, but let's make sure. Do you have a multimeter?

The quad is an 87 and they are actual trail tech lights, purchased the ones for the 99 400 ex 35 watt I will test the voltage tonight
