anyone know if the Wiseco kits are pretty close to where they need to be? i just got my motor put back together, but wasn't aware that i needed to set up the end gaps..

I would check the end gap reguardless if it needs it or not just to be safe. If the gap is not correct the piston wont seal good enough to keep compression if the gap is to big or if the gap is too small the heat from when the piston goes through the strokes will cause the rings to expand and end up breaking which would cause you more harm than good.

Yeah 99% of the time I have to file mine to get it right.

the place that bored/honed my cylinder matched it to my piston.. so i don't know exactly what they bored it to, number-wise, to plug into Wiseco's end-gap chart; any ideas what i should do now?

There was a piston spec sheet that came with my piston, I had my end gap set when I had my head bored and honed also.

I haven't ever had to file mine and I always check.

i just got off the phone with the place that did my cylinder and they said they very rarely ever have to file rings and i shouldn't have to worry about it.
