The tires measure out to be about 36.5". The truck is alot bigger than it looks in the pic. Its got 8" lift. The front is a little higher than the rear. I had a diff. offset wheel and the tires rubbed on certain turns. I just havent turned my torsion bars down yet.

Nice car, don't get me wrong... But why do people buy a V6 and then buy upgrades and stuff for them? Don't say MPG either because I've seen a 2006 GT with Exhaust and Chip get 4 more miles to the gallon than a stock 2006 V6.... Just curious?

Edit- Guess it helps to read the whole thing before commenting. Read what I needed. lol... Just my titch but I hate V6 muscle cars... I think it just kills there whole purpose.

yes at least someone else has a v6 stang:D i just bought an 03 mustang last night. killer deal on it, only had 55k miles. i was having trouble deciding if i wanted to put money into it or save up for a bigger car:ermm: ill post pics of it later this week when i pick it up

i baught it totaled and put pretty much a whole new front end on it then added 20in rims, airaid intake, k&n clamp on, magnaflow duals, alpine headunit with 7in flip up screen, infinity mids, mb quart highs, tint, bed cover, custom grill, built transmission, higher stall converter, shift kit, ect.
soon to come with be 4.10 posi rear and a 2/4 drop

why the 03 front end? i like the look of the 06 front hood/grill better.

plans for motor work i assume with the trany built and stall converter. cam? headers?

either your truck is not an 06, or someone has put an older grill/hood on it.

in 2005 they changed to the taller hood, flat top grill for the HD models, and all models got it in 2006. it is a left over 06 or something. plus you said you bought it totaled, so my guess is when it was repaired the front end was changed over then. the only difference is the hood and grill, teh lights, bumper, fenders adn all are teh same. it is an easy swap to do.

BTW, A tune and headers is agood for a decent increase, as i have them on mine. but a cam will really wake one up.

hmm...it definitely an 06 but when i bought it there was no grill but it had the same style hood as it has now (but that one was smashed). I got all the parts off of a 05 that was hit in the rear then got the grill off ebay and did all the work on it myself. but oh well i like the lower looking hood better for a lowered truck. i was in a rush to get it together and on the road so i went with that front end but i really wanted to do a escalade front clip.

what kind of headers do you have? im probably doing a 4.10 posi next cuz right now it has 3.43 limited slip posi so thats killin it on takeoff

Its actually got more then 160k on it. The larger tires threw off the odometer slightly, its really at 162-164k probably. Original paint except a little on the drivers side (new door skin) when I got hit by a plow truck. The cab corners are fine, the bottom edge of the rockers have a nice brown tint to them under the bedliner. I really need to fix them or find another cab and bed. The rust is getting to the cab the worst.

If I still got the truck when this motor gets tired I'm thinking swapping in a 14bolt semi floater rear axle, a 4l80e and a roller 383. I'd prefer a duramax or cummins though. The power you can get out of them is insane. And they can be pretty quick also. An 11 second plow truck could be fun.

Spoiler is set at zero down force right now. And what it does help with on a fwd is helps it pull in a streight line better. When I do the engine swap its going to be rwd using a mustang rear end set up.

Put a C4 behind it. Good transmissions for under 500hp. Anything higher than that and they just die unless they are built. You could also run a T18 if you want to run a stick. If you feel like a big spender, T56 hehe.

Ive got a C4 behind my 306.

Its a solid tranny, but I really want an AOD. Im saving money and im going to order one from Lentech. I think im going to go with a Manual Valve body, High performance servos, 1pc input shaft, stronger clutches and about a 2500 stall comvertor.

If you put a C4 in your truck Brandon, you'll need at least 3.55's in the rear end to keep it driveable. And you'll ultimately want 2.73's if your going to be on the interstate with it.

I drive down the road at 3000 rpm and im doing 60 mph.

yea my AOD cant handle my motor now. I would like overdrive though. Maybe a c4/c6 with like 3.08 gears.

Maybe a ZF 5 speed. Not sure what I want to do with the tranny issue yet.

Don't run a ZF in a street truck. Super short first gear, one piece bell housings, very expensive, expensive to replace, etc. Very very good transmission's though. How would I know? That's what's bolted behind my brother's 396w stroker. All I can say is stage II clutches don't handle second gear slams very well. haha.

The first time it was with a mildly built 351, slipped under hard acceleration and the engine started to lose oil pressure, hench the 396. After a professional rebuild it burn it up within 500 miles. After that my brother rebuilt it (he now rebuilds transmissions for a living as of now) and it lasted about 750 miles and it died out. That was when the ZF came into play.

A f150 ain't going to win on a track with turns. Drag racing is lame and uses almost no special talent.

Thing is theirs 4 different 2g eclipses that all look the same and are one of if not the best looking 4 banger you can buy next to lotus. Alot of the people that call eclipses slow is cause they think their all like the gs/rs. Saying a eclipse is slow with out seeing whats under the hood or hearing the exhaust is stupid. Eclipses aren't like hondas in which they all sound bad and are slow except for the honda NSX.

Out of the 2g line up theirs 4 different types and 2g is also the best looking year eclipses with the 97-99 being the best looking cause of different bumpers than the 95-96.
Eclipse GS =420a engine N/A 140hp
Eclipse RS= 420a engine N/A 140hp
Eclipse GST = 4G63 engine turbo 210hp
Eclipse GSX =4G63 engine turbo 210hp AWD

Half the eclipses you see on the roads are gst's and gsx's. Their one of the fastest cars you can see on the roads on a daily basis. Half of the turbo ones are putting out over 300hp. And half the gsx's and gsts are mustang killers and eclipses also handle pretty good stock and even better when modded specially the gsx which a guys modded eclipse gsx holds the fastest 4 cylinder car 1/4 mile running in the 6's.


My eclipse is over 100lbs lighter than stock and has 165hp. Actually probably a little less hp cause all engines loose power as they age at less you rebuild em. Eclipse gs/rs don't have as deep of a sound as the turbo ones which makes it hard to find a good sounding exhaust with out sounding ricy. They don't sound like a honda but with a bad exhaust they can sound close to one. My exhaust is deep I havn't heard many 420a eclipses deep as mine and I run it between 3-4thousnd rpm so it never gets at all close to high pitch at all. Around 5500rpm and higher it gets a little to high pitch for my liking but nothing like a honda. The race exhaust came with a fart can cause all race exhausts do but it does not have a big exhaust tip like ricers use. Mine had a small tip but I just got a new muffler for my car few days ago that I will weld on that looks like the factory muffler but looks chrome and has 2 cores and 2 exhaust exits so it flows double as good as the fart can but will be slightly quieter and sound deeper and I love the smell of my car cause it has no cat. It smells like the races.

And after I finish ITT tech this car is going to be rwd and getting either a
*NSX engine
*Chevy 454 or 572
*Porsche 996
*Dodge viper 8.0 engine (not the 8.4)
*Or 2 gsxr street bike 1300 engines.

The 3 I'm thinking more of using are the 454,turbo nsx or viper engine.

Any ways I think its stupid that any one calls it or me rice. A ricer is some one that races the roads and fails to make their car look good. They run $30 clamp on fart cans, Painted rims or chrome hub caps or no hub caps at all, try to go fast, put the body kit on that looks the farthest from factory making the car look square and half the time don't paint em, get cheep $400 paint jobs making their cars orange or green and the colors are dull nothing like lamborghini colors, lots of stickers specially the NOS stickers and normally some stupid vinyl kit, tallest spoiler they can find, and they always try to go fast and rev the crap out of their car cause they actually think their car is fast.

I on the other hand have a body kit that is almost like factory. It is shaped like the car un like all the other kits and you never see eclipses like mine cause most people use the fast and furious square body kits. The kit made my car lighter. The rear bumper is the same as stock but came with a built in lip kit. The front bumper is close to factory but is slightly different. The side skirts aren't like factory but are the nicest looking ones being made. The car is the best color for eclipses. Car has a exotic type look to it. The spoiler is lower than the factory spoilers but im still 50/50 on keeping it. My car puts out a nice exhaust note, I dont race the roads and I know its not the fastest thing out.
The beauty of eclipse GS's and RS's makes up for their low hp engines.

The main differance between me and a ricer is I went for a factory look while ricers go for the most un factory look as possable they dont want to look any thing like stock. I made my car sound good not like a honda which most ricers love the honda sound.

The 2 things I will probably change is take the spoiler of or change it and make the interior look factory cause blue does not look factory. And I also make fun of REAL ricers all the time.

If your still going to talk rice you better not have rims or exterior mods on your car/truck or big tires and lift kits. And if your still talking rice and have a slow quad which is below the 450s and have a pipe or race plastic that is what rice is. Make a slow quad look and sound fast? RICE And just to point out the fact, aftermarket quad mufflers are built 100% the same as fart cans other than being smaller.

first let me make sure your aware of my position here

1. i hate slow as much as anyone else
2. i love muscle when its done right

but i must start this by sayin the next time you want to jump in to a conversation and make someone look retarded make sure you know what your talking about, yes hes car looks retarded and i wouldn't be caugt dead driving it in its current state, but with a turbo setup and a decent it would be a quick little car that i would love to drive after i give it a makeover. euro tail lights look better then stock on 95% of the cars out there so don't try and knock em cuz you know i'm right. and as for the mustang killer, not so much, but a gutted eclipse will hold its own against a gutted mustang. the foreign four bangers more often than not out handle anything american made. and as for the civic hatch comment it doesn't mean anything, because a civic hatch with a decent b16, gsr, or k20 swap should walk an eclipse because it'll be pushin the same hp numbers at lower weight. andddd the v8 swap in a fwd car has been done many times already, there are actually videos on youtube of a civic hatch with an ls7 in it. ok now lets recap, SLOW your car is still retarded, next time instead of a body kit get a decent suspension setup and you'll get the stance you want anyways, get mugen lips and smaller spoiler and you'll be at the same weight with wayyyyyy better looks, also if you wanted to be fast you should have gone with some lightweight 17s intsead of the monsters ya got on there, and kxrida don't automatically bash every 4 cylinder car out there just because you see dumb s*** teenagers out there revin the crap out of their 1000 dollar civic with a 50 dollar fart can, they can be built very respectably with ease, most people that like them though don't have the know how to do it, and before you bash me for being an import lever lets remember i'm currently attempting to restore a 1963 ford falcon with plans for a decently built 302.

thanks. they are Ion Alloy 170's... alot like the Mickey Thompson Classic Lock, but about $20 cheaper per wheel, and the lock ring looks a little different.

well a one spoiler doesn't make sense if it's on the back yes, but if you have an adjustable lip on the front, that's what gets you traction, ff cars have a light back end so if the car has an adjustable lip on the front that takes too much weight off the back, which means you need the spoiler, although race setups use minimal downforce on the rear end. but yes, that is really riced out. also no way you can fit a v8 in an eclipse, let alone a v10. well if you want to drive it on the road you can't:rolleyes: if he wanted to he could put it in the back seat haha but yeah no. is car is pretty sour
