My 2004 450r turns slow and I would like a quicker turning machine, without buying shocks arms axle, what can i do? Stem is already cut down perfectly and I bought new bars. Suspension is next summer. . .

It's slow to respond to turning? Have you tried just simply adding a hair more toe-in to the front wheels?

The only other way I would know how to make your turning faster would be adjust your caster, which I don't think you can do with stock arms.

the wheels are alligned so that they are perfectly vertical, would adjusting the toe-in make the tires turn quicker? Do I use the tie rod to adjust toe-in?

yeah, screw the tierods in 2 turns each. that i believe would do it as much as you would want it to.

Two full rotations of the tierod inward would get a desired 3/4 inches in, or so I hear thats the perfect allignment for an mx rider. I ride mx by the way but an easy turning machine helps for any type of riding. Thanks guys I know a stock 450r has its limits.

Yea it helps turning crispness. Rubber flexes. What it does is "pre-stress" the rubber so when you turn theres not as much delay in the rubber reacting to the change.

You can also go right in front of the engine, just go ahead and cut about 4" out of the frame and weld it together, that'll give you a better turning radius

haha I like the tierod idea, i cant weld so that is out of the question, with my luck if I ever cut the frame i would re-weld it crooked.

i dont know if its just me but my 450r that ive got actually seems to turn to quick so im tryin to get the steering dampner off my old 400 to work but i cant find a stem clamp. but compared to the 400s i think that the steering is alot lighter and quicker

i would love to know what a pro built 450, or 250r/450 hybrid must handle like.

One is an 04. One is an 06. The 06+'s have a slightly twitchier front end setup, if I remember right.
